Actor JP Reddy, also known as JP, is all set to present a story that he believes will resonate with anyone who has relocated from a village to the city in pursuit of better education. The upcoming film, Karki, represents the debut of Tamil director Pavitran in Kannada cinema. JP shares insights about the film, stating, “We delve into various compelling themes like caste dynamics and the fundamental right to education through this narrative.” However, embodying the character was no easy task, as JP admits, “Initially, I had reservations about whether I could authentically portray this role when director Pavitran shared the storyline with me. Being accustomed to urban life, transforming myself into a local boy appeared challenging. I shed 6 kilograms by altering my workout routine and diet, exclusively donning just four shirts purchased from Gurjari market in Shivajinagar during the filming. My appearance and mannerisms underwent a significant transformation. This is the essence of acting – embodying the essence of the character being portrayed. Failing to do so signifies a lack of commitment to the craft. To truly portray a character, one must fully embrace and embody their persona,” JP elaborates.
